I'm Elizabeth Blando, a REALTOR® and listing specialist in Kansas City. I co-founded We Heart Homes KC with my husband, Emanuel, and we hang our licenses with Keller Williams Kansas City Metro in Prairie Village.

I got into real estate through the front door, as a buyer with almost nothing. My first house left me with $300 after closing. I made it work by turning it into an Airbnb, and somewhere in the middle of managing bookings and fixing things at 6 a.m. I realized I understood property better than most people who did it for a living. I got licensed in 2019.

Today the listing side of our business is mine. Since 2019 our team has been part of more than 600 closings and over $150 million in sales in the Kansas City metro. I've received the ICON Award six times and been named Best of Zillow. My clients have left 46 five-star reviews, and I'd rather you read those than anything I write about myself.

I list on both sides of the state line: Prairie Village, Leawood, Overland Park, Fairway, and Mission in Kansas, and Brookside, Waldo, Hyde Park, Armour Hills, and Lee's Summit in Missouri. Most of my listings are single-family homes, and a lot of my sellers are also buying their next house, which means I spend a lot of time making two closings line up.

I'm bilingual, and I work with clients in whichever language they're more comfortable in. That's not a marketing line; for a lot of families it's the difference between understanding a contract and signing something they hope is fine.

Outside of work I'm a mom, I still invest in real estate, and I occasionally get asked to speak about building something from nothing. Mostly, though, I sell houses. It's what I'm good at and it's what I like.
